A really amazing book. I\'m a clinical neuropsychologist with a special interest in the frontal lobe too. I would like to ask to Doctor Goldberg about any work or any impression about the relation of the suicide behavior and the frontal lobe, i\'m working on it right now.

Looks like Dr. G is off on vacation. From the perspective of neurophysiology, consider Glutamate potentiation as a possibility for an origin for suicide. The Amygdala pulls information in from the Parital-Temporal lobes, and floods it forward to the left lateral prefrontal. All using the neurotransmitter Glutamate. This either burns out the neurons there, or overwhelms them so they can\'t do much on their own. In either case, it gives the right prefrontal dominance in mood processing, and it processes in the depressive direction. So, possibly, as far as the cortex is concerned, suicide may be potentiated by the excess activity of a limbic organelle. And how many of our mental health problems do originate in limbic system dysfunction? Lots.

I liked how Dr. Goldberg draws parallels between the organization of the brain and the organization of society.

An amazing book. Although my formation is in math and engineering, I can suspect the change these statementes can make in the medical science. However, I must declare that I was waiting until the final pages to find \'tips\' or (better) exercises to apply. Can you help me to reach them?
